TIPS TO MAKE YOUR QUILT LIFE EASIER

Quilting is considered therapeutic by many people (and we totally agree!), but nothing is more frustrating than feeling like you aren’t making any progress on your projects.

While efficiency may not be the top priority when you just start your quilting journey, it can be so helpful to maintain your motivation and inspiration after you get down the basics.

One of the best ways to increase your efficiency? Chain piecing!

Chain piecing is when you continually feed quilt blocks through your sewing machine, without stopping to cut the threads in between. This saves time, thread, and prevents thread nests!

You start by organizing your fabric into stacks that will turn into blocks. You can even label them to keep things extra organized! Once you have your stacks, you are ready to get sewing. Feed the first one through and then continue sewing blocks as you go, without stopping in between to cut the thread and feed a new block.

GAME-CHANGING TOOLS

This thread cutter stand complements chain piecing perfectly and proves invaluable for other thread trimming tasks as well! Rather than discarding your old rotary blades, this stand breathes new life into them by securely holding them between the flowers, allowing you to trim by simply putting pressure on the thread.

This stand enhances efficiency and ensures a smoother workflow, making it a must-have tool for quilters. Plus, it offers a gentler alternative to scissors, making it easier on your hands. We’ll take the relief where we can get it, right?
